Finding ways to collect carbon dioxyde

For those of you who read French, I do recommend this summary of a very important scientific conference on the environment. These papers are published by scientists and there seem no one to tell us that we are not facing a major problem :

This is very convincing that as the countries develop, they need a power source to provide for manufacturing, heating, cooling and transportation. We have to worry about supply and pollution whence Brasil, China and India quick evolution as industrial centers.

If some people like Claude Allegre continue to state that the greenhouse problem is not caused by human activity, we want these people to follow the proper channels and publish their findinds and see if they are welcomed by the scientific community. Otherwise, they should be considered as meer opinions surely not based on facts.

I invite our governments (since proper initiative doesnot seem to come from the companies) to dedicate immense amount of their GNP to research into ways to have new renewable source of energies and here are a few examples of what can be already done in terms of research :
1- catch CO2 and return it to earth
2- apply improved hydro-power as still the only true massive energy producer which can also be local with small facilities,
3- more efficient air-to-air and air-to-earth heat pumps which can have most houses to heat and cool almost independently,
4- find a new way to power airplanes
5- developp a new generation of sail ships for cargo
6- developp underground transportation of goods between cities with technologies using vaccuum in large pipes.
7- induction motorways where the cars are powered, steered and controlled by the underground wire system.
8- Proper public transportation systems aimed at moving families around in an efficient manner especially in suburbs such as the ones you can see around Montreal,
9- Optimization of alternative sources such as windmills, solar energy, etc to be installed in city centers.

We sould aime at making sure that all developped countries fall to levels below world one which is 4.2 tons per inhabitants. This means that China is already a major threat to the planet since they have the largest popullation.

This real effort does go beyond just applying green taxes which will not stop the wealthiest to plunder the planet.

As Al Gore protrays it in his film The Inconvenient Truth, this is a matter of emergency. Do you agree or disagree ? Do you have solutions ? I have found a lot of ideas which can really change this world without much sacrifice in our quality of like, however their is now a price to pay which is much more affordable than later repairing for disasters.
