Dear all,
World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has organized an event all around the world
on 28 March 2009 to raise awareness of global climate change.
http://www.wwf.org.uk/
Our University, the Middle East Technical University, Northern Cyprus Campus,
will also take part in this event by turning off the lights in METU Square between 20:30 - 21:30.
We are looking forward to seeing all our students and staff at MET Square at 20:30.
Moreover, the WWF asks us to participate in that event and to shut any source of energy consumption for one hour, especially if it consumes non-renewable resources.
Finally, I would ask from you to postpone the use of your car or petrol driven buses or trains after that time.
My Quebec's friends riding Montreal's metro or any electrically-driven suburban trains do not need to observe that request. This means that my Quebec's friends heated by Hydro-Power do not need to do it, howevver, it would be nice to shut the lights off for that hour at least because I know how cold its gets there even in March.
Can France and Canada ski centers do it ?
