WE have been hearing that submarines are running on those making them very silent and indeed difficult to track, but now this technology might surface to the real civil world.
It is now envisionned that ships could be powered by superconducting electromagnetic motors

The IEEE have decided to award them one of their innovative prices:
this is a new generation of electrical motors to be fitted into ships.
