Hello all,
here is a very important message from
the IEEE Institute Online :
"As resources become scarcer, while more people clamor to share them,
and global warming is an increasing danger, it's plain that our current
course is not sustainable. To address this, IEEE President John Vig has
created the President's Sustainability Initiative to contribute IEEE's
expertise to the public dialogue and to strengthen the sustainability efforts
of IEEE's societies. Read on at

As this is now recognized facts that we are facing great challenges in ressource sharing for the very near future,
I really think that we have to favor and promote all these initiative where the International Societies are showing the example. Hopefully, this trend will reach the political and economical elite in Brasil, India and China.
The METU in North Cyprus is also launching its own initiative. We are several academics involved in renewable ressource research like affordable solar energy for cooling. I have commenced these activities with prof. Bourhan Tashtoush and assistant prof. Ali Muhtaroglu. This will be our little contribution.
Best regards,
Luc
