Hello folks,
a recent survey proposed by Yahoo News was published:
http://ca.tech.yahoo.com/blogs/ereviews/rss/article/3433
"Apple typically targets a mid-level-and-higher type of consumer"
"They also use more expensive parts and components across the board."
They control everything so the machines are much tighter in terms of reliability.
Like the BMW or Volvo designers which spend more time into the design and
increase specification verifircation since the spending enveloppe is slightly larger.
"Macs are good for multimedia"
Not only for multimedia. They are good for everything. Remember that Excel started on the MAC shoebox.
Their chip processing power is much better utilized so on most benches, MAC run faster with much slower chips.
The window environment was never mastered by PCs as well as in MACs.
Maybe only the Atari and Amiga computers did achieve as well as MAC software.
"PCs, on the other hand, are a key backbone to how the world does business."
Well, to be honest, they accept to live dangerously with mediocre technology.
Compatibility is a pure joke.
Since my mother bought a PC, she could almost never use Skype since there is always a problem with the sound card or else. The technician comes every month and fixes a bug. Not very efficient for the average person.
For the average person with average needs (Internet, Word Processing, purchasing, banking, etc), MAC are a much better choices since they offer a true plug-and-play without any hassle. They start well and run without the need of an expert. Overall the increased capital expense is saved over a few months.
"If I were to switch to a Mac, I wouldn't be able to use Windows programs."
This used to be true with MAC computers driven by Power PC chips.
This completely false since now, on a MAC, you can use all OS.
My friend Daniel as made several tests with the native Windows
and he could prove that in many occasions, the software was running faster on the MAC.
The MAC computers come with Intel processors so there is no problem to run any Windows application as long as Windows itself does not run into problems.
"Macs never get viruses, but PCs always seem to have problems with them."
The point is simple. If you are a virus maker and you want fame, your virus will be designed for Window based applications. And there are plenty of loopholes in the Microsoft designs which make them so responsive to viruses.
In fact, anyone wishing safety should access the Internet only with a LINUX or MAC based applcation.
I would prefer to have a survey of operating systems.
MAC OS-X vs Windows, who is the best ?
MAC OS-X or not to MAC that is the question.
The anwser should be : If I think therefore I am MAC OS-X.
I recently bought a HP laptop (Compaq design) and it came with Vista.
It was horribly slow and often it would not react to my command. Disturbing.
Many programs were not operating properly.
How come Windows seems to be getting worst and people continue to buy it ?
On the other hand, I know a lot of people who moved to MAC laptops and they will never come back.
It is similar to when you start driving a European car, you pay more but you will never want to come back to US or Asian cars.
A friend of mine has found a way to get a MAC OS-X running on a PC.
I have an old PC laptop where its Windows side has been not running for a long time and the LINUX side is in top shape. So I guess that very fast HP Pavillon, although overheating, it is very strong.
I will convert my Windows side to MAC OS-X even if it is illegal since I truly beleive that MAC OS-X should be sold for PCs and this is not a request. This would generate much more revenues to Apple.
As is the user concerned, the true sense of liberty is to have an choice of different machines including the well built MAC and all independant OS should be able to run an all of them. This is my dream of a better computer world.
