Dear all

The organizing committee is pleased to invite you to participate in the 2010 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics to be held on July 6-9, 2010 in Montreal, Canada. The conference is technically sponsored by the
Objectives: The 2010 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics will be held on July 6-9, 2010 in Montreal, Canada. The purpose of the IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics (AIM), following the footsteps of the previous eight editions, is to promote activities in various areas of mechatronics by providing a forum for exchange of ideas, presentation of technical achievements, and discussion of future directions. The AIM brings together an international community of experts to discuss the state-of-the-art, new research results, perspectives of future developments, and innovative applications relevant to mechatronics, robotics, control, automation, and related areas. The conference is also a flagship conference of the IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics. Selected papers with the highest quality will be considered for publication in a Focused Issue in the Transactions. For the most up to date information and a complete list of committee members, please continue to visit the conference website shown below.

Topics: included but not limited to Actuators, Automotive Systems, Bioengineering, Data Storage Systems, Electronic Packaging, Fault Diagnosis, Human-Machine Interfaces, Industry Applications, Information Technology, Intelligent Systems, Machine Vision, Manufacturing, Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems, Micro/Nano Technology, Modeling and Design, Motion Vibration and Noise Control, Neural and Fuzzy Control, Opto-Electronic Systems, Planning and Navigation, Prototyping, Real-Time and Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation, Robotics, Sensors, System Integration, Transportation Systems, and other applications including new frontier fields of Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics.

May I point that this city is my home town and this place is a blessing and therefore worth the trip.
My last summer museum pass allowed me to visit 35 museums. Its Botanical Gardens are considered among the nicests by the Michelin Guide. The Biodom and Center of Canadian Architecure are unique in the world.
All summer long, there is always a festival going on in an especially designed area in the city centers.
Montreal is on of those rare american cities where the surrounding quarters are excellent place to live in and well sought after, a little bit like the Arrondissements in Paris. According to Former´s Guide, Montreal offers the best dining in North America and this at an affordable price. This city boast the highest density of parks, bars and terrasses in North America which makes this place a perfect place for a long vacation. Its social system is almost unrivaled and this results in a very safe city beyond anything else in the Americas. This means that you can walk anywhere even at night. From the airport, you can use the suburban trains and reach the city center at the cost of a metro ticket. In the surrounding areas, you will find several 300 year old historical towns with
genuinly Neo-French and Canadian architecture.

Montreal also opens the way to an immense nature where hundreds of lakes are hidden in the Laurentian mountains on the North and the Appalachians on the East. The perfect place for the nature lovers and the sports as well. Needless to say that everyhwere along the St-Lawrence river offers breathtaking views all the way to the Gaspesie Peninsula which is the most beautiful place in Canada in my humble opinion. Do you know that it is the largest river in the world ? Hope to see you there and enjoy !
